چکیده

A phase field model for tumour growth is introduced that based on a Brinkman law convective velocity fields. The couples Cahn–Hilliard equation the evolution of to reaction-diffusion-advection nutrient and Brinkman–Stokes type fluid velocity. derived from basic thermodynamical principles, sharp interface limits are by matched asymptotics an existence theory presented case mobility which degenerates in one leading degenerate parabolic fourth order. Finally numerical results describe qualitative features solutions illustrate instabilities certain situations.

Relation of growth delay to cure for experimental tumour systems conforming to Poisson cure statistics.
In tumour regrowth-delay experiments, the analysis of results in the higher dose ranges may be complicated by a dose-dependent proportion of non-recurrent (cured) tumours, whose inclusion in the analysis is not straightforward. A study of the relation of growth delay to cure has been carried out using a model of tumour response which assumes Poisson (single-cell) cure statistics and exponential...
متن کاملBiophysical models of tumour growth
Tumour growth is a multifactorial process, which has stimulated in recent decades the development of numerous models trying to figure out the mechanisms controlling solid tumours morphogenesis. While the earliest models were focusing on cell proliferation kinetics, modulated by the availability of supplied nutrients, new modelling approaches emphasize the crucial role of several biophysical pro...
متن کاملTumour-induced neoneurogenesis and perineural tumour growth: a mathematical approach
It is well-known that tumours induce the formation of a lymphatic and a blood vasculature around themselves. A similar but far less studied process occurs in relation to the nervous system and is referred to as neoneurogenesis. The relationship between tumour progression and the nervous system is still poorly understood and is likely to involve a multitude of factors. It is therefore relevant t...
